BACK TO SCHOOL!!!

I mean seriously… what a quick summer that was!! Kids started school on Tuesday. Hubby and I got back on Monday night from our New England adventure, and then BAMM kids started school the next morning.. My eyes were like shifty… you know…. how someone’s eyes look when they are looking out the window in a fast moving car?? But we’re 3 days in now, and it’s going smooth. I keep reflecting on my trip to New England, and man, just awesome awesome memories. It has to be in the top 3 vacations I’ve ever been on. Good weather, good places, good friends, good food, good bevvies, good laughs, good times!! New England is magical…. it really is….
I can’t thank my mom enough for watching the kids while we were gone. Came home to them totally prepared for school… haircuts and all!! She holds down the fort well. She left yesterday….. empty around here…. just (sigh)…. Hopefully, we’re going to go down and see them while they are in Bandon, OR, fishing. My folks are still here in Oregon for another 3 weeks or so for the fall salmon run down in Bandon. Gotta get down there and see them before they leave. Buttttttt we committed to going to California for Christmas this year… so at least we can look forward to that!! (so excited!!)
First soccer game I’ll be coaching this coming Saturday…… I have NO clue what I’m doing (secretly)… I dunno.. maybe I know more than I’m giving myself credit for. Either way.. I’m in it for the long haul. I’m hoping for a good season, and maybe… just maybe I’ll make an impact on the boys. 3rd grade boys can sure be mouthy!! The other night at practice, my patience was tested. Could’ve been that I was still totally jet lagged and tired…..
I still can’t get over the fabulous wedding we went to. It was a Scottish wedding… so the groom and the men in his family all wore kilts. Full lobsters for the reception dinner, good band, MANY cocktails….. But it was so good to finally meet and hang out with the buddies that my hubby went to the Coast Guard Academy with, as well as all their wives. Without having ever met most of them, we all connected really well. Lots of laughs… lots of swapping stories. It was so great to go on vacation with my hubby all by ourselves. It was a chance for us to rekindle what we have…. heading into the school year with a fresh start and a clean slate with your hubby is priceless. Refreshing!! But now back to the grind. Christmas is almost right around the corner, and Christmastime for MGS is NUTTY!!! I’m mentally preparing myself now…..
And a big thank you to Daneen,,, for holding down the business fort and production while I was gone. She’s my wingman… I couldn’t run this business without her!!
