Rain Rain Go Away!!
Happy Halloween!!! One of my all time favorite jokes at halloween .. Why did the witch dump the vampire? Because he had a HALLOW WEENIE!! hardy har har
Hopefully this rain will stop man, because there is nothing worse than having to trick or treat in the rain. I grew up in a very small resort town, and would typically stay the night at my friend, Cori’s house in Big Creek for the night of Halloween. It was yet another small town that was pretty much specifically built for all the hydro employees of the electric company (Edison). Mostly everyone was from somewhere else, but all lived in this town during their employment with the company. School was built for the employees, small store, town’s library was the school’s library, church, post office the size of a walk in closet… you get the picture. Very beautiful tho’, pictured to the right is Kerkhoff Dome, which sat above the big hydro powerhouse 3, which we passed everyday going to school on the 40 min bus ride. Anyways, Halloween. So we’d get all dressed up in whatever we could find in the closet, but usually involved black shoe polish or paint. We’d get our oversized pillow cases for our trick or treat bags, and head out. Usually a group of us, some of us carrying raw eggs, you know.. stuff like that. I never said I was an angel. But we’d trick or treat E V E R Y house in the town. Then, after hitting every house, we’d head back to her house, change into something else more “covering” and head out again. We would literally come home with so much candy that our stashes would last us almost up until the following halloween. The little straggler Smarties Candies…. nast.
But I have very fond memories of Halloween. So much fun, unsupervised FUN!!! Nowadays it’s a little different. I live in a much bigger town, and while my son does indeed walk to school, I dare not let him go trick or treating by himself. Kind of sad actually. Maybe when he’s older.
Anyhow…. I hope you all have a Happy Halloween!!! Get those tooth brushes ready if you’re a tooth hygiene nazi like myself!!!

The house at the very bottom of Jungle Town handed out full size candy bars. Regardless of how difficult that walk was, it was totally worth it.
